ADX Indicator Explained

A simple yet effective ADX indicator formula for traing FOREX.

ADX is an acronym for "Average Directional Index" which is an indicator used by technical traders to help determine trades in any financial market including FOREX. Created in 1978 by a guy named J. Welles Wilder, the ADX is an indicator of trend strength. This video demonstrates how to use this trading tool when trading a currency chart.

Indicators like the ADX are thought of as "lagging" meaning the markets have already changed direction by the time a signal is given. Indicaors are usually used in conjunction with "leading" indicators like Japanese candlestick Patterns.
